Not a lot of privacy in Death Valley, what are you doing off the road there Steve?

We eventually climb up and over the mountain range in the background(the far right side)

The first miles click by quickly at a good pace

Denise's tape job protected Steve's feet the rest of the run, 95 more miles.
IMG_0262.JPG
Willy is up next. Fix those feet Denise!
IMG_0263.JPG
Ouch!
IMG_0264.JPG
We call this a 'low moment'. Right after Steve pukes. Time for a break Steve?
IMG_0265.JPG
Steve's, "Why I Love Ultras" list is kind of short right now.
IMG_0266.JPG
Down but not out, back on the road an hour later.
IMG_0267.JPG
24 hours later. We are climbing Towne's Pass as the sun rises on day two.
IMG_0268.JPG
Day two begins, we get close to the top of the 18 mile long climb up Towne's Pass. It's taken all night long.
IMG_0269.JPG
The sun comes up and everyone's spirit's lift.
IMG_0271.JPG
A wildlife shot.
IMG_0273.JPG
Here we are, through the Death Zone, and at the top of Towne's Pass. That's two big milestones.
IMG_0274.JPG
Steve and Willy, glad to be here, now 12 miles of downhill to Panamint Valley.
IMG_0275.JPG
In the background is the mountains we just came up and over.
IMG_0276.JPG
Time for some aid.
IMG_0277.JPG
One of a couple hundred stops we did over the days.
IMG_0278.JPG
Crossing the Panamint Valley Floor. It's COOL on this side, only around 110-115 degrees I think it was.
IMG_0279.JPG
Leaving Panamint, for a 16 mile climb.
IMG_0280.JPG

IMG_0281.JPG
Steve is about midway of the railing, you see the road we came down in the background, many miles ago.

Clicking off the miles
IMG_0283.JPG
Willy needs a break, naptime!

In Lone Pine, about to begin the final 13 miles up to the Whitney Portals
IMG_0296.JPG
I'm lovin' this, about to pace Steve up the final 13 mile ascent.
IMG_0297.JPG
Whitney is the peak directly above my head. Highest point in the lower 48 states.
IMG_0298.JPG
My bottle is pointing directly up to Mt. Whitney.
